Practising

Slow down, loop and use the metronome

Practice mode gives you tools for the hard bits. Open it from a song's ⋮ menu in Library (Practise this song), or tap Show practice tools in the full player.

Playback speed

Slow a song down to as little as a quarter of its speed, or speed it up to double, without changing the pitch. Start slow, then creep back up to full speed. Tap reset to return to normal speed.

Loop a section

Set a start point (A) and an end point (B) and the section repeats until you stop it. Harmny counts the loops and the time you've spent, so you can see the practice adding up.

Metronome

Keeps a steady beat while you sing, with the first beat of each bar accented. It has its own tempo and its own volume, separate from the song.

Record yourself

Record yourself singing along, then listen back. Your phone will ask for permission to use the microphone the first time.

More on the practice screen

  • Sheet music and lyrics or notes, if they've been added to the song
  • Mark difficult section, to note the bars you need to work on
  • A parts mixer for songs with separate recordings of each part, so you can turn your own part up and the others down
